Background

Partners

The ETII brings together a diverse array of both national and international partners in both the public and private sectors

National Partners

The ETII model relies on its partnership structure with 4 nationally active organizations. National partners are essential to the logistical, pedagogical, administrative and financial operations of the ETII.

American Cultural Association (ACA)

The American Cultural Association (ACA) is the not-for-profit, bi-national parent organization of the American Language Centers (ALC) in Morocco, which teach English as a foreign language. 7 ALCs (Casablanca, Fez, Kenitra, Meknes, Oujda, Rabat, and Tangier) participating in the 2017-2018 ETII are the real home of the ETII. ALCs train the 80 ETII trainees, host ETII course and events, and provide important material support to the program.

US Embassy in Morocco Public Affairs Section (PAS)

Without the generous Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) grant awarded to the ETII from the US Department of State in 2015, the ETII could never have begun. Since then, the PAS at the US Embassy in Morocco has supported the ETII through a number of grants, sending 2 ETII trainees to the 2016 International TESOL Convention in Seattle, providing resources for an ETII summer camp for orphans in Fez, and offering the ETII renewed financial assistance for its 2017-2018 program.

Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research (MNEVTHESR)

In the ETII’s mission to offer to its trainees an academic experience par excellence, the MNEVTHESR plays a pivotal role. Representing the Moroccan public universities participating in the ETII, the MNEVTHESR assures that Moroccan universities recognize and validate the valuable pedagogical and professional experience that trainees gain through the ETII.

Ministry of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicraft and Social Economy (MTATHSE):

The ETII’s partnership with the MTATHSE stands at the core of the ETII program. Following ETII trainees’ pedagogical training, in January ETII trainees are dispatched to work as English language interns at MTATHSE handicrafts centers in communities in Morocco cities. Due to their likely future interactions with international English-speaking tourists in Morocco, MHSES students stand to benefit greatly from the English classes taught by ETII trainees.
